At Sterner we supply a wide range of feeding system solutions to land-based aquaculture. Our main feeding system is Arvotec from Finland.
Arvotec's technology has been finely honed for almost 40 years in the aquaculture field. This experience ensures reliable function and minimal maintenance of our products.
The biological mathematical model and the features in the control system are developed in co-operation with leading international researchers, companies and most of all, our customers.
Feeding into individual basins or groups is adjusted according to temperature and oxygen levels. The system then makes use of the in built energy demand model and feeding formulas for different species of fish to calculate the ideal daily dose for maximized growth with minimal wasted energy.
For more sophisticated RAS farms we provide several measuring and alarm systems that can be integrated.
Most of the feeders and all necessary spare parts are stocked in our warehouse.
Arvotec Control System
The feeding control system of Arvo-Tec Oy combines feeding, measuring and alarms into the same system. The system automatically takes into account water temperature and oxygen level when it calculates the amount of feed required for each tank.
The control system is decentralised and fault-tolerant. For example, if a data connection is interrupted, local units continue to operate independently.
A biological mathematical model is used to automatically calculate the feed required. The model is calibrated for several different fish species. In addition, differences between farms can be taken into account based on information and experience collected by the system.
In addition to water temperature and oxygen level, measurements can also be made to utilise other parameters such as the water’s PH, flow and surface height.
The feeding control system reduces workload. Its superior accuracy and efficiency in feeding reduces environmental impact and reduces the size difference between fish. Fish are healthier as a result of improved tank hygiene
FIAP Clockwork Belt Feeder
FIAP's belt feeders slowly dispense almost any dry medication, chemical or feed over a 12- or 24-hour period. If shorter length or intermittent feeding is desired, the conveyor belt can be pulled back halfway or feed can be spaced on the belt. These feeders will reduce labour costs and improve growth rates. Setting the feeders is as easy as lifting the lid, pulling back the belt and loading the feed.
The feeder is powered by a spring-wound, corrosion-resistant, stainless steel clock mechanism housed in a weatherproof case.
